Giant dahlia or tree dahlia. A tall species growing to over 3 metres in height. Thick stems reminiscent of bamboo are produced and large, elder-like leaves. Large double white flowers are produced in late summer and autumn. Prefers a sheltered location protected from strong winds and frost. Prefers well-drained soil and can grow in full sun to partial shade.
