Landscape planning

This project involved creating a full landscape concept for a new build property.

The brief for this work required a sensitive approach to the site, as it incorporates a remnant stand of Kanuka forest.  The challenge was to blend a beautiful natural coastal environment and the new home together.

Using natural contouring and shaping to emulate sand dunes, we focused on the transitional space between the house and the existing bush.  An area was formed that will be planted in drifts of predominantly low growing native species to fuse the two areas together.

The client requested areas for vegetable and herb gardening, as well as the introduction of fruit trees, so closer to the dwelling, in the lee of the wind, there was an emphasis on productive planting.

A central hub is a meeting place for the occupants of the dwelling and guests alike, to enjoy the outdoor environment, protected from the prevailing wind.

Here's what the clients had to say...

'Jayne has been such a pleasure to work with. From the outset, she understood our needs, responded quickly under tight time frames and produced a Landscaping Plan that is creative, practical and cost effective. We are really happy to be working with Jayne on the landscaping and gardens for our new home.
